Long-term care
Practical steps to take when someone enters care
We are sorry to hear that your loved one has moved into long-term care. If you need to notify us that one of our customers has entered long-term care, please contact us using the details below so that we can provide help and support through the next steps.
Please remember, if this is regarding a joint life loan where this is the first borrower to enter long-term care, the loan is not required to be repaid at this stage. We just ask that you inform us for our records. You can do this by calling us on 0330 053 7540 or by emailing us at customersupport@rivertonhomefinance.co.uk.
Here is an overview of what to expect once you have been in touch with us:
-
We will ask you for some information about the account:
-
proof of entry into long-term care (letter from the care home or doctor's confirmation)
-
proof of identification of the person(s) dealing with the account (passport or driving license).
-
-
If you are associated with the customer, for example a Power of Attorney or next of kin, please let us know. This will provide you with the authority to manage the account.
-
We will discuss the plans for repaying the loan with you whilst considering your individual circumstances.
-
Throughout this time, we will ask that you keep up to date with these plans.
-
We will provide support during the process, including any additional information or documents we require.
